Zachary Hann is a saxophonist, clarinetist and composer based in Brooklyn, New York. He formed the Zack Hann Trio in a house in the woods of Vermont, where musicians from New York had gathered to wait out the darkest days of the COVID pandemic. Recognized for their rich, vibrant sound and commitment to spontaneity, their approach is rooted in the tradition of legendary saxophone-bass-drums trios like those led by Sonny Rollins, Lee Konitz, and Joe Lovano. The trio’s extensive repertoire encompasses jazz standards, American folk song, pop and indie music, Western classical music, free improvisation, electronic music, and original compositions.
