Friends of the West Shore Theatre, Inc. began when a small group of individuals who love New Cumberland and remember the decades of joy provided by the West Shore Theatre. When the theatre closed and the building sat empty, it was if a vibrant part of the New Cumberland had vanished.

These individuals knew the importance of the theatre to the broader New Cumberland community and banded together to save the West Shore Theatre for generations to come.

In May 2018, at a town meeting at the Fire Hall, the Friends asked the community what the Theatre should keep and what might make it even better. The Friends listened and in 2019, bought the Theatre with the motto to Restore, Revitalize, Reinvent.
